About BFBO and ourĀ contributors
Joanne Lynne is an osteopathic manual therapist with extensive experience in both clinical practice and education. She has lectured nationally on the role of osteopathy in paediatric care and collaborates with international osteopaths to educate practitioners worldwide. As head of the BFBO course development team, Joanne oversees course creation and event coordination, bridging advanced paediatric and perinatal concepts with practical clinical application to improve patient outcomes. She graduated from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy at the top of her class and received the prestigious Andrew Taylor Still Award of Excellence.
Joanne further developed her paediatric approach through training with Robert Harris, CST (Toronto) at the Cranial Therapy Centre in paediatric cranio-sacral techniques, as well as mentorship with Dr. Jonathan Evans, Registered Osteopath (Australia). Her teaching integrates multiple treatment methods and clinical strategies designed to support infant safety and enhance therapeutic outcomes.
Established in 2021, BFBO welcomed Dr. Malisa Gambacorta, DDS as a contributor forĀ our popularĀ TOTS course. The course was later expanded with key contributions from Dr. Mandeep Johal, DDS. They areĀ both internationally recognized for promoting interdisciplinary collaboration in airway and oral health care.
Terra Nicolle, OMP, PFT joined BFBO's collaborative projects soon afterwardsĀ Her clinical focus on pregnancy and birth has been shaped by extensive humanitarian mission work in remote communities, where she has participated in training local populations in birth and delivery support. Terraās expertise is featuredĀ in both the Assessing Pregnancy and Treating Pregnancy courses, combining osteopathic principles with practical understanding of maternal physiological change.
Dr. Dustin Costescu (Hamilton, ON), esteemed OB/GYN and educator, contributed his valuable medical insight into fetal and birth-related traumaĀ which inspired the development of the course Birth and Its Mechanisms of Injury.Ā This course helps osteopathic practitioners better understand the forces experienced by infants during birth.
As interest in paediatric osteopathy rapidly expanded across Canada, BFBO partnered with Dr. Jonathan Evans, Registered Osteopath (Australia) in various course projects.Ā For a time, Dr. Evans led BFBO'sĀ blended learning program calledĀ Treating Babies Apprenticeship,Ā the first of its kind in Canada. He retired from this position in 2025. Joanne Lynne now leads this paediatric certification option.
In the summer of 2022, BFBO released Intra Oral Treatment, taught by Joanne Lynne.Ā This online programĀ focusses on the nuances of osteopathic assessment and treatment, for practicalĀ skill developmentĀ of palpation and treatment planning of the infant.
Caylea Davidson (DOMP, RMT) has joined BFBO in recent years, offering in-person taping courses focused on pregnancy support. Her advanced expertise in KT Taping techniques has helped practitioners incorporate effective supportive strategies into maternal care. This event is held in Niagara, Ontario twice per year.
SinceĀ 2021, BFBO has launchedĀ over 12 onlineĀ courses in a variety of formats and price point options.
