About BFBO and our contributors
Joanne Lynne is an osteopathic manual practitioner (OMP) with extensive experience in both clinical practice and education. She teaches nationally and collaborates with osteopaths worldwide. As head of the BFBO course development team, Joanne oversees course creation and event coordination, bridging advanced paediatric and perinatal concepts with practical clinical application to improve patient outcomes. She graduated from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy, receiving the prestigious Andrew Taylor Still Award of Excellence.
Joanne enjoyed paediatric training under Robert Harris, CST (Toronto) at the Cranial Therapy Centre in paediatric cranio-sacral techniques. A mentorship and collaboration with Dr. Jonathan Evans, Registered Osteopath (Australia) resulted in Treating the Infant Cranium.
Established in 2021, our course production began in collaboration with paediatric dentists Dr. Malisa Gambacorta and Dr. Mandeep Johal, DDS. Internationally recognized for promoting interdisciplinary collaboration of osteopathic treatment and dentistry in airway health, Tethered Oral Tissues and Intra-Oral Treatment quickly popularized in the industry. Infant Latch, the Jaw & Tongue rounds out how jaw movement and growth relates to proper feeding.
Soon, Terra Nicolle, OMP, PFT joined BFBO's collaborative projects. Shaped by extensive humanitarian mission work in remote communities, Terra has trained local populations in birth and delivery support. Her expertise is featured in Assessing Pregnancy and Treating Pregnancy, combining osteopathic principles with practical understanding of maternal physiological change.
Dr. Dustin Costescu (Hamilton, ON), esteemed OB/GYN and educator, contributed his valuable medical insight into fetal and birth-related trauma which inspired Birth and Its Injuries. This course helps osteopathic practitioners better understand the forces experienced by infants during birth.
In late 2021, BFBO partnered with Dr. Jonathan Evans to launch the programTreating Babies Apprenticeship, the first of its kind in Canada. He retired from this position in 2025. Joanne Lynne now leads the TBA certification program.
Caylea Davidson (OMP) joined BFBO more recently, offering in-person taping courses focused on pregnancy support. Her advanced expertise in KT Taping techniques gives practitioners effective support strategies in maternal care. Our workshop is located in Niagara, Ontario each spring.
