Infant Cranium & Oral Cavity Workshop - Ottawa

Saturday June 12th 10am - 3pm

Safety Statement

Babies are not small adults. Infant anatomy is unique. The special joints of the cranium, spine, shoulders and pelvis require thorough understanding for safety reasons. Certain head shape conditions can be made worse without basic technique and sound clinical reasoning. Treating the Infant Cranium teaches you this material to prepare for the workshop. You must add TTIC to your checkout if you are unprepared or uneducated in infant cranium anatomy and treatment skills.
Also, understanding the mechanics of the jaw for proper feeding is imperative for adequate weight gain in the infant child. Recognizing a poor latch, finding the source of the trouble, and knowing what needs to be addressed (whether it's the jaw, lips, tongue or cranial base) is highly important. Infant Latch, the Tongue and Jaw teaches you this material to prepare for the workshop. You must add ILJT to your checkout if you are unprepared or uneducated in feeding mechanics and latch quality assessment.
Lastly, in the workshop we will be palpating inside the mouth. Familiarizing yourself with the muscles of the tongue, the soft tissues of the soft palate, the 4 bones of the hard palate, knowing what a healthy suckle looks and feels like to determine a treatment plan is key. The videos in Intra-Oral Treatment show precisely how to accomplish this and the anatomy review is needed for the workshop. You must add I-O to your checkout if you are uneducated in oral and facial anatomy or inexperienced in palpating the oral cavity.

The online material is yours to review as you grow as a specialized practitioner! No other workshop is set up to provide this material in digital format at a reduced price. Most workshop lecturers teach over 2 days, making the experience content-heavy which takes away from the in-person experience. When we are physically together in the workshop we can focus on palpation and technique, bringing clinical reasoning and practical skills to the pre-requisite material to life, in our hands!
