The mylohyoid and geniohyoids are just 2 of the 4 suprahyoid muscles. They are key players restricting jaw and tongue function especially with latching problems in babies. You can work externally with the myofascial tissues of these muscles, examine what restrictions may be causing neurological dysfunction, or you can don a glove and work from inside the mouth.

Tight nuchal cord (umbilical cord) wrapped around baby's neck can injure this area as well as below it.
